Smartboard

What is it?
· The smartboard is large interactive whiteboard that uses touch technology to detect user input – e.g. scrolling, right mouse-click – in the same way normal PC input devices, such as a mouse or keyboard detect input. A projector is used to display a computer’s video output on the whiteboard, which then acts as a large touch screen.

How can you use it?
· The options are endless!
o I love making Jeopardy games for my students the day before a test. This can be used in every subject area and any time.
o There are also countless websites that are touch sensitive and interactive. These sites can quickly become a refresher or an independent station for the children to utilize during independent/small group centers.
Why would you use it?
· This is a useful tool because it offers either self-guided
· Pros

• Sustainable
• Opportunity to create a physically active classroom

• Can be used as a crutch
• Endless options
• Time consuming

· Include standards (NETS and 21st Century Skills)
